Efficient transport to and from the port
We work to continuously ensure the best accessibility
Companies in the port area must be able to transport their goods quickly, safely and in a traceable way to and from the port. That is why we continuously work to improve our accessibility by water, rail and road. And to achieve better and more transparent data sharing with all stakeholders.
Urban logistics by water
We need trucks and vans in the city. But there are a lot of them and that is not good for air quality and road accessibility. Bridges and quays in the city centre are deteriorating because of all the goods traffic. This is why Amsterdam is committed to urban logistics by water, through Amsterdam's excellent canal network.

Tracking push barges
We created the Poseidon platform to provide insight into the location of barges. Skippers can find an available berth for their barges faster by using trackers to collect information on the location of push barges. This saves time and fuel. The platform is open and scalable so that other customers and ports can use it too.
An offshore wind hub
Facilities and knowledge are available in the Amsterdam-IJmuiden region to help the logistics, assembly and production of offshore wind components. We contributed to the construction of the largest wind farm on inland waterways: Windpark Fryslân. And with the arrival of the Energy Port, we are also supporting the installation of offshore wind farms in the North Sea.
